About Cidexar

What is Cidexar?

An AI-assisted screening tool for systematic reviews. It checks every title and abstract against your eligibility criteria and sets aside the papers that clearly don’t fit, so your team can focus on the rest.

How do you say it?

See-deck-sahr.

Who is it for?

Anyone running a systematic or scoping review: PhD students, researchers, clinicians, librarians and evidence-synthesis teams.

Accuracy and trust

Will it miss important papers?

It can. In our testing at the standard setting, it kept about 98% of the papers that made it into the final published reviews. Results vary by review. That’s why nothing is deleted, why you can pick a more cautious setting, and why spot-checks are built in.

Does it work equally well on every review?

No tool does. In our testing, results varied from review to review, and some topics are harder than others. That’s why you choose the setting, why nothing is deleted and why you can check its work on your own review by sampling what was set aside.

How was it tested?

Against the real decisions of the expert teams behind published systematic reviews, on reviews it had never seen. See how we tested

How do I know when I've screened enough?

Cidexar doesn’t decide that for you. It gives you what you need to decide: a score and tier for every paper, the setting you chose, a way to check a random sample of what was set aside, and the numbers to report. If your sample turns up papers you’d keep, read more or choose a more cautious setting.

Which AI does it use?

We use a combination of tools that we’ve tested and tuned specifically for screening. We don’t share the details, but we do share how well it performs.

Does it decide for me?

No. It suggests; your team decides. Suggestions and decisions are always shown separately.

Using it in your review

Do I need to train it?

No. It works from your eligibility criteria as written.

What does it read?

Titles and abstracts. Papers without an abstract are kept for a person to screen.

Can I use it in a published systematic review?

Yes. Cidexar is a screening aid, and your team makes every decision. Cidexar gives you a ready-made paragraph describing the step for your methods section, along with the setting you used and the numbers for your flow diagram.

What do I write in my methods section?

Say that titles and abstracts were first screened with Cidexar, an AI-assisted screening tool, give the setting you used, and describe how set-aside papers were handled and who made the final decisions. Cidexar gives you a ready-made paragraph to adapt. See what to report

What file formats can I import?

RIS, PubMed (MEDLINE), EndNote XML, BibTeX and CSV spreadsheets.

Can I change my criteria after screening?

Yes. Every version is saved, and re-screening papers you’ve already screened is included up to five times per review.

What happens with duplicates?

Cidexar flags records that look like duplicates and shows you why. It never removes one for you, and both originals stay on record, so the numbers in your flow diagram always add up.

Can I change a decision?

Yes, as often as you need. Earlier decisions stay in the paper’s history, so you can always see what changed and when.

Pricing and plans

How much does it cost?

Cidexar is a subscription, paid monthly or yearly. Plans for researchers and teams include a generous allowance of papers screened, and institutions get a quote. Prices will be announced at launch. See how pricing works

Is there a free plan?

No. Cidexar is built for serious review work, so there’s no free plan or free trial. New subscriptions will come with a money-back guarantee, and institutions can start with a paid pilot.
